About us
Hedgehogs Preschool and Woodland School is a vibrant Community Village Preschool serving Hempstead Village and the surrounding areas.
We make the most of our wonderful community enjoying local visits and trips. Everyday we run our Woodland School, visiting local woodland and forest spaces. Every other Wednesday, we visit Hempstead Library where the Preschool children take part in story times and every Wednesday afternoon, we take the younger children to shake and boogie.
We love exploring our local parks and play areas, the children get to develop their physical skills by running, climbing, exploring, challenging themselves and managing their own risks.

We are proud to support the Hempstead Christmas Tree and the children love to spot the Hedgehogs bauble hanging from its branches.
We also support our local Spring Fair in Hempstead Playing Fields where we hold a stall to raise money for the Preschool and we also participate in the arena events.
Every Friday morning, the children visit their 'older friends' at Heatherdale Nursing Home. They love chatting to the residents, playing games with them, finding out about their lives and the similarities and differences between them.
