Explorers Room

Our unique Explorers Room caters for our youngest children from 3 months to 2 years. In Explorers, we focus on developing secure attachments with our mindful Practitioners, who foster early communication skills by singing and reading stories. We create invitations to learning to cultivate intrigue, interest, and natural curiosity about the world around them.

Our little learners have numerous opportunities to develop control of movements, motor control and core muscles, such as yoga and trips to our local park. We are building upon children's sensory experiences by cultivating an environment that brings awe and wonder.

At Hedgehogs Day Nursery, we know that every baby has a different routine, so we work in partnership with families to ensure we mirror your baby’s routine at home.
Discoverers Room

Discoverers are becoming fluent communicators and having the confidence to celebrate their own successes. They are beginning to think imaginatively and creatively about the world around them. By offering a range of role play opportunities and invitations to make marks, we are creating confident and independent learners. Our mindful Practitioners create opportunities for deep and meaningful connections to establish first friendships, care for others and understanding that things belong to others. Our Discoverers are healthy in mind, body, and spirit with daily cookery sessions, learning new motor skills and developing an understanding about the world around them.

Adventurers Room

Our little learners will settle into this room during the Academic Year before they go to School. The focus of this room will be ensuring the children have the broad range of knowledge needed to support them in preparation for Primary School as well as equipping them with the necessary skills to become successful lifelong learners. We are building on our little learners’ confidence to develop their independence skills, by offering choices and scaffolding their learning. Our Adventurers will have opportunities to have their own ideas, make predictions and to test their theories. Our Adventurers are also learning about the world around them through our Local Environment Learning Programme, broadening their cultural capital and discovering how to be environmentally considerate.
